This may or may not be shocking ..for my SMC83 mates....was in the centre of city today...daughter wanted to have a good LOOK at zainab market first time...and Frere hall building she just heard about...so it happened to be ...route which would have given me a chance to take her to our parent med.school..SMC...and I went there after whole 28years plus...it was shocking and no less...The Institute we attended so enthusiastically..looked more like central jail Karachi building..than our SMC... just one big high steel gate on main road..and all inner links...covered by high rise concrete walls.... tragically...one can't even drive to old block from ward 5 link...and both old and new blocks were hidden by again high rise walls....still can't believe....

Bad news is... good news.

All the good news coming our way... Yes, it's so true bad days never stay… so time to cheer up commoner. The one who was supposed to fly on health grounds - and as was his desire, quite couple years back - won’t leave unless otherwise in an ambulance. His wish came true and now he is on his way to Dubai Hill Palace… he is happy and so are we!

And then those $700m, which got blocked and sealed by amreeki and have apparently shaken my friends…My friends, we are happy that they did because we will no more be paying for it. Stop all… and we will still prosper!

The worrying issue is …about the 260millions pkr , being under approval for the renovation of another lavish kitchen of (Sick)Presidential Palace..for which you and me are going to pay…yeh tu jate jate bhi nahi chorein ge… shameful. And harmful.

We heard just yesterday , of something about the last NAIL..in the coffin of some one somewhere......The jinni out of bottle(ex-lawless minister )loudly uttered...and what we saw and heard today ...that last NAIL has come from nowhere else than AMREEKA itself...The respectable Mr.Mansoor Eijaz, made another fact into public, that memo which has created so buzz all around...has come from no where else but the presidency and he goes further to say...that Presidency and Hussain Haqqani...knew before hand, about the Amreeki operation on UBL....at Abbotabad.....

Conclusion from ,all what is coming from away seven seas....The Power.........and here the dots are very clear, which brought AZ on the seat....is ready to.........him out of that.......who else now? to me this time...it will be KHAN'S turn!!!!!

Islamabad: Asif Zardari claimed mental illness as reason for not appearing personally in court while in exile in the UK.
A report in Wednesday’s Financial Times said the court appearances were related to corruption charges filed against him by the Pakistani government.
Zardari's lawyers filed medical records in the court that said he was suffering from dementia, depression and post traumatic stress.
The records also quoted a New York psychiatrist who described Zardari as suffering from emotional instability brought on by long periods in jail and that he suffered memory and concentration problems.
“Zardari is now healthy and his doctors had declared him fit to run for political office, he is widely expected to win the election for president early next month,” says Pakistan's high commissioner in London, Wajid Shamsul Hasan.
“Many people were very impressed to see Mr Zardari go through the trauma of the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, he held himself together, held his family, especially his children, at the difficult time,” Hasan added.

Where will it end?

when there are serious issues looming on the heads of hierarchy ,civil or military, like now a days...The NRO appeal rejection, NATO unprovoked killing of ranked as well as soldiers of Pak army, Memo gate scandal.....best way for diversion from long since has been.....blood and fire on the street of Karachi...and I alert my all good friends and family members...please be carefull, its not going to end quick!!!!

Wherewithal of change.

OVER the years ,tolerance of difference of opinion in our society has receded significantly. It has now come to the point where many of us only talk at rather than talk to one another. Dialogue has been the obvious casualty in the process.

Since many today are not willing to listen  and then respond intelligently with a counterpoint in case there is an argument, it is only buzzwords that one picks up in a conversation to jump to a conclusion. In a social discourse today this is becoming the norm: the inability to listen, grasp what is being said and then add to the conversation. Thus partisanship in ideological/political grandstanding gets the better of so many today.

There is an increasing inability to hold a focused conversation without juxtaposing two conflicting personalities, ideas, opinion or stance. For instance, it is almost  blasphemous today to critique Imran Khan’s stated opinion on a given issue without being labelled as ,
anti-Imran, and by implication , pro-Zardari, pro-Sharif, pro-American etc.
The buzzwords that works as  a smoke screen to block a dialogue the minute you open your mouth, in this case, ‘Imran Khan’, ‘Zardari’, ‘Sharif’ and ‘America’ or any suitable to be picked, trigger a rehearsed  reaction instantly. Similarly, Pakistan can not be discussed without juxtaposing it with India and vice versa.

I can't say or write about the hierarchy conspiring in all this unfolded drama against the sovereignty of Pakistan but I have seen and spent time with outgoing US ambassador Hussain Haqqani; a blatant, extempore speaker from Islami Jamiat Talba's platform... instead of holding tight to his roots, he opted the easy way to climb up the ladder..... going down to lowest to go up...... watch this and now his cries live on national and international TV.... to facing possible treason charges.... before this ladder he has been with all -- including Nawaz!

Low ebb politics...

Politics at the lowest ebb...never seen and done anywhere around the globe ...but the shameless as we are...our politician do! Back and forth , like he is travelling from Badin to Golarchee...Zulfikhar Mirza is flying and running around...Karachi-London -Karachi bound, as the Presedents Palace's male-maid to dishonor! and he has always some bags...and those were never checked..I bet....this time they should have been...as it seems more so obvious....the fall of King and all his men is eminent, and he got away with the loot.......and than there was another with him..jumping from domestic arrival to International departure lounge was the ...newly born...Sharjeel...and as I saw he appeared so delighted at London Airport as though he was born again.....what a mess!...

World diabetic day......and we have the honor of not so a proud Nation to get into top six .....most diabetics we have...and we are suppose to be poor and getting worse each day......so where is the fault? we have so many a leading renowned physicians working towards creating awareness as well as treating to the best...but it doesn't seem to be working.....as family physician, my assessment , has been , failure of diabetic to comply on his/.her physician's guidelines on , diet as well as regular medication and exercise. Only two out 50 ...will follow regularly, not regularly using their glucometers to keep check ...for one reason....can't keep away from meals......fear of getting into insulin......so much co-ordination needed from all levels.and my opinion its getting into epidemic proportions.

Dirty, dirty politics...

ZM -- a ploy for covering the Presidential Palace's wrong doing -- and the ongoing, premature election campaign that has started in Punjab under the banner of "go Zardari go, go Zardari go". It is the ZM, the waa guzaari middle man in action in Sindh, starting campaign for The Zille Subhani -- a faithful friend -- and like they say "a friend in need is a friend indeed". That, Mr. President does need.

As I watched just now, a political analyst from BBC opined that, whereas Nabeel Gabol said few things against the regime and his life was in danger from his own party men. Now he has gone into oblivion whereas ZM is roaming around and uttering whatever comes in his mouth against his own master's regime... There is something real fishy going around in and out the presidential palace aka AZ and ZM...

GOOD NEWS... not from Islamic republic of Pakistan, but from Republic of India...The govt. of India has announced to pay 20,000 of the 36 thousands of air fair for intending haji's this year ...giving subsidy amounting to two and half billion.......inference...PM Gilani and son should now make niyyat for hajj, this year, and that too, via neighboring India and ask for forgiveness to Allah almighty, during the pilgrimage....

2-another one from neighboring India...some prominent figure from Pakistan has invited Anna Hazare to visit our land of rampant corruption...as he succeeded in bringing Indian government down to their knees, and he has graciously accepted the invitation......why not he do the same...sure he can!

Why not?

It was the year 1975 and we started to struggle for the admission in a medical college. It was so simple a procedure during those days; you obtain enough marks and you would find a place in the merit list. And those enough were quite unlike what we notice at present times. 75% aggregate got First Class first position in premedical section in that year whereas one of my patient’s daughter with 76% seems to have no hope for getting even to the gate in the present era. This remark isn’t meant to offend those hardworking students, as one very senior person sitting at the Dow University Of Health Sciences administration once informed me that they did not even give a second look at marksheet below 80% aggregate. And look at how right he was; a van driver’s daughter with 84% couldn’t get admission -- the only option offered to her father was to accept the self finance seat, which the poor fellow could not afford even in his dreams.

Anyway, we submitted the admission form with documents, which included the most crucial and most important domicile certificate, which had the column requiring me to fill in the place from which my father migrated!

As we all remember clearly, the days we used to go to DMC and afterwards, following the events each day. The first floor canteen -- just as we entered the college gate, the samosa and that tasty, warm doodh patti and the shor sharaba of youth (now I somehow hate loud noises).

Then came the controversy of 20 free marks of NCC, making it tougher for some students to get into medical college as their merit would go down but that anti-NCC campaign paid off! And NCC marks were scrapped.

But I just cannot recall why a meeting attended by admission-seeking students was addressed by one young, political leader sort… and somehow his statement "... give us control on Karachi, we will build roads so shiny like glass.” I wonder why that statement got stuck in my memory.

It was such a thrill, the day of interview. Straight away, I can’t remember how many days elapsed between submission of form and interview. Names were called according to merit and just the original documents were checked and we got into professional career.

Yes, it will get quite long but it is worth writing, as I took the challenge of professional education in a much better way than few of the other classmates. First prof.: the best! And believe me, the basics we did were excellent; the three D's of Anatomy: discussion, dissection, and diagrams --the pillars of Anatomy. I'm lucky to have met my friend, Kasim (HR) and Owais and we formed own (study) group.

My Love..

As long as traders feel safe to do business, earn money for the country as well for themselves, and not for governmental .non-governmental bhatta organization…I LOVE THE ARMY….as long as a mother feels it safe to take her child to school, without being blown off the face of the earth…yes, I LOVE THE ARMY…..as long as a common man gets power most of day, when industry can function to full production, when poor gets sugar at rate of rps25/kg, flour at rps 15/20/kg(during the regime of general Musharraf)…I LOVE THE ARMY to take charge……when the killings in Karachi or Quetta or any part of country is feel free affair…. and sooner the army moves in just to warn the killers and it stops…makes me and all secure, when they reach out to save flood victims from diseases and drowning..I WILL KEEP LOVING THE ARMY!

I HATE.. when 30 million of fake votes, brings in the so called infantile, and imbeciles forced cracy in power to rule ….I HATE, when servants pose themselves as kings..and the real kings (common man) are made to beg for shelter and bread ….when man in power chant slogans of khappay khappay, but spread hatred and linguistic gulf among peace loving common citizen….I HATE…..I HATE when the people in power loot and plunder the charity meant for disaster effected poor…..I HATE so much when those who harvest the barren land for rice and all basic food..are dying of hunger…where as The Kings eat lavish meals…I HATE all the INJUSTICE in jobs, education and health.

Oops... There are some 180 million of these "anokhe ladle". They want trains to play but there aren't any. They wanted airplanes bu there is not one in sight... They want energy -- nothing doing! Some want more gas; it's scarce. They need government with power... but handicapped, it is. What is left? Allama sahab's dream. Did he see a circus in his dream? Another no.

So what is this? Lets see... Laughter the best medicine!

Ojhri Camp Disaster

How can I forget that fateful day when I went to Islamabad for the engagement ceremony of my elder brother: April 10 1988. My brother, his to-be brother-in-law and I started to set out to the bus stand for Rawalpindi, do some shopping and make arrangements for the engagement event for that evening. It was 9 am, as I recall it, and we had not moved more than few meters from the house -- and boom! -- we heard the sound of some kind of blast that may not have been heard ever before, and what followed afterwards was smoke or fire flames; sky high.

We felt stunned and shocked by that sound and what we were watching high on sky, and all the people of that area started running here and there. Some feared that the Kahota atomic plant had been attacked by enemy planes. That wasn’t the case. The blast was at Faizabad heavy arms and artillery depot at Rawalpindi. Missiles were flying and falling all over the Islamabad and nearby mountains. It was just mayhem we never could have imagined and within few minutes, we witnessed the stinger missile from US smash a window of a house, hit the kitchen first, destroy all and then some how rotate all over sitting area, damaging the ceiling fan. Another missile we saw had entered the ground and gone deep.

I don’t remember much of the engagement ceremony. All I recall now is the tragic and horrific scenes at PIMS, those were the starting days of that health institute and hundreds of injured were being brought one after another. I did my part and stayed all night, helping out with the emergency work but I fully remember that child whose leg had to be amputated and was running with high grade fever. I shall never hope to witness something like that in my life. Some 4-5 thousand people had died that same day and Mr. Khaqan Abbasi was among them too.

The detail is meant to narrate something which none of my colleagues had witnessed and shared that disaster with the people of twin city.

The ammunition had came or was sent by US for the proxy war against Russian invasion and was being used by Afghan Mujahideens -- as they were called at that time -- they were the friends of later years, and they became Taliban. It was their country and they got it back by pushing one superpower back into their boundary and… later disintegrate.

The US of America is the encroacher, on one or the other pretext, its another western power , invading a sovereign nation, which was already had been badly bruised by earlier Russian adventurism.

It is high time (before it's too late) for the US to back out from this total chaotic and fruitless, exercise, which is destroying their own integrity as a nation as well as their cracking economy.

Let the Afghan people have a chance to rebuild themselves, which they didn't get even after the Russian left -- they surely taught them a lesson!

Taliban or no Taliban, Afghanistan is for Afghans... Just leave US!, under the cover of NATO.

Barking dogs do not bite.

Since few blast years ago, after each blast, we watched a shameless face in front of the exposed camera, doing a lot of hand exercise, and uttering the words of authority, "We will tackle all with iron/steel/brass and all kind of metallic hand," and keeps on going to, "... we will not rest until all terrorists are finished." Yet boom boom it goes... And not a statement before any... surprise! They just keep doing the same. The incompetent keep uttering threats.

This time it was Defense... Left unprotected... And the shameless face was Chaudhry of another variety, with a haggard look, the SSP CID, gives the statement in a manner not much different than earlier big claims, but getting carried away, "Mein in ki naslon ko ab nahi choroon ga!" TTP called -- as they promptly do -- and all their calls untraceable, claiming the responsibility, yet again, and see? Within 24 hours, another tragedy hit this time at Mastung, Quetta where 26 innocents were lined up and shot in cold blood. Not threat beforehand. They just do what they want to do. On the other side of law, they say a lot!

Life stops when it cries...

People say life must go on... and I wonder how can this be? When so much around you is standing still, for so many... can you ignore, and if you can, for how long? Some start singing, even though so many can be seen crying. How can that be? What is not real... the singing or the cries? For me, a happy song appears fake amidst all the cries but a sad situation makes tears trickle down spontaneously and feels so real... Stop singing and start sharing the sadness. Grief and sufferings of someone -- anyone -- you see close or remote to you. This is what is real life about.

Somehow, from a scale of 1-10, it is the sadness, which has been dominating, broken promises, natural calamities, hunger, disease epidemics, personal failures and social injustice. Chose something that you can share into, and you may justify singing once again.

As the weapon show ended, we had a fairly peaceful Eid. Down came the rain... pouring in cats and dogs fashion. Wonder why they say that but somehow, I got to find some explanation for that phrase:

So where were we? Yup. The lashing rains turning into floods, and that doesn't take months for the rainwater to drain, whilst the city is so close to sea, but when it rained and it just kept raining in up country, more so in villages of Sindh, it took all with it. Cattle, standing crops, and humans. The aftermath was epidemics of several diseases, mostly concerning benign diarrhea, vomiting to fatal typhoid, malaria and dengue fever.

With all this already taking heavy toll on human sufferings ,comes the ever so popular strikes...and they are in abundance.One self proclaimed leader of poor, who himself is richer by default! gets arrested and the payroll followers call three day strike.What must have gone in those areas ,already hit by natural calamity?

And we are still dreaming that some of the good old peaceful days, when work and business will be uninterrupted shall return. Still no harm in dreaming. They say one day dreams do come true!

Bureaucratic monopoly along with intentional continuation of unjust policies adopted by the long run of rulers for 65 years has created a sense of deprivation and alienation among various section of population. Even after the tragic Fall of Dhaka, no one has learnt their lesson. In Sindh, only the rural and urban division has long since been the controversial issue. As I know, when you read job advertisement for public sector, one clearly notices the quota sanctions: Punjab (6) Sindh rural (2). And if and when there are provincial jobs vacancies, it reads like Sindh rural (5) Urban (1).

The big question that arises here is; why the rural-urban divide only for sindh, even after 65 years? Why does this cleavage still exist? If it is on the pretext of being underdeveloped areas then why is it so? Even after more than half a century they are, to me, the only answer. An honest, true and hard to swallow fact is, urban Sindh is mostly populated. In fact, statistically 70% comprises of those who left the Indian part of the Subcontinent, leaving all their wealth and jobs, for the love of being taken into one nation that was to be Pakistan. A nation that was not meant to be. We broke it into pieces for same one reason: injustice to the people of our beloved and beautiful eastern wing, mashriqi Pakistan. On the fast track move, we are watching the dark of history being pushed to be repeated in Balochistan and going on since a long time and suddenly the same picture in Sindh can be clearly seen by one.

You want those who migrated from Indian part of the Subcontinent to merge as Sindhi. Although they do keep trying to make believe but to no avail. Abolish quota system in Sindh at all levels. For once in 65 years, let one of the elected representatives from the urban area be the CM. Revise the seat allocations for both the National and Provincial Assembly according to the fresh population census. Make them -- those who are still being reminded of being the immigrant --believe they are in their home country. They, too, are the sons of the soil because so many have been born here. Some in JMPC and a lot at New Karachi or hospitals at Hyderabad, and from there they are taken to homes close by and not migrated. Only then will the word Muhajir disappear. If we don't call, they will keep uttering and showing fron actions that Muhajirs still exist... like Balochis and past Bengalis!

Some of the gossips that spread here are that something miraculous is being carried out in Karachi against the "bhatta khor" or the brutal killers. Nothing of such sort. Lyari was first attempted to be rid of criminals, but as it became clear. all women of the area were made the front line wall to protect and giving the chance of escape. Since the last two days, only sixteen -- yes, just sixteen -- people have been produced in courts, like the ex-interior minister eloped. All those involved in the heinous killings were told to "leave the city" so they did and are enjoying some more comfortable surroundings.

are we trying to defend some one or wishing the accused stepping aside....get punished if found guilty...or else shine as hero...yet again...but will they find the courage...or they fear....the only way self accountability first...if not let the law be the decider!!!!its the only way out...all in one line....we can start the trip from right here..Karachi..few hidden talent here too…than Punjab…money laundering….raiwand…poultry….and what not….moving on to Gujarat…co-op scandal…monis elahi…sugar and wheat mafia…and reaching as far as the PM house…now being newly to be constructed…with infinite millions of tax payers hard earned money..haj scandal…..sanctioning…millions to fake advertisers by PM….and thence to….the royal presidential suit….from prison to…..this guy sure is lucky….with BB ..removed from scene…it’s the batees daant ka aadmi….and yes this man is in action now with full swing….won’t even budge to supreme court orders…mard ka baccha!!!!so where we go from here….status quo…killings…corruption….lawlessness…paper parliament…public sector….in shambles….even bankrupt….so what is left…just an egg shell!!!!!!…unless….even that is saved…all will be squashed under the foot…so to shield the handful, we want to sacrifies our …left over country that is still called….lets think about a new name now….Pakistan , was created in 1947.…but what was brought out of that in 1971...must get a new version….name…and we can keep turning the leafs of our history…and present…we must get answer…and that too sooner than later….
